Elementor for SiteGround Users
Update: Te discount coupon code is valid until the end of 2019!
WordPress is a huge part of the web nowadays and thousands of SiteGround customers use it for their projects of different scale. There are many different Page Builders out there that add on top of the default WordPress functionality and make it easier to structure the content on your site. Today, we want to introduce to you Elementor – an intuitive drag-and-drop site builder with powerful features, whose use results not only in nice layouts but in a clean and optimized website code too.
What can Elementor do?
With Elementor, you can use pre-made templates for different page types and simply replace your text and your images within the structure it has generated for you instantly. In addition to that, you get a whole variety of content blocks that you can put in different locations on your pages by simple drag-and-drop. The plugin provides not only columns and rows that you can fill with data but full control over what is shown on the desktop, mobile and tablet users. You can fine-tune the experience for each device right from your backend editor.
Another great addition is the fact that Elementor has a growing community of developers and designers that create addons for it.
Why do we like it?
Elementor is a flexible page builder that does things “the right way”. It really works very fast on your browser. Usually, in drag-and-drop interfaces, especially on slower computers, things can become slow, really affecting your workflow, making what’s advertised as something to help you, a constant pain to struggle with. Elementor’s interface is really well written and works fast and smoothly, allowing you to focus on the actual content creation instead of wondering if the element you’ve placed in is actually saved or not. The best part of it, however, is that the output is a good, clean HTML that works fast and smooth for you and your visitors.
The next big thing about Elementor is that it’s not “bound” to a particular theme or a limited number of themes. In theory, it works with every theme. Of course, minor tweaking may be necessary but Elementor’s compatibility with themes is simply great. Despite that, it provides a great variety of pre-made layouts that you can use to quickly create the page you need only by swapping the default content with your own images and text.
Last but not least, it’s been heavily developed by its team and it constantly receives regular updates that handle new features, introduced by WordPress, as well as improvements of the builder itself. This makes it a piece of software that you can rely on in order to grow your business upon.

Great post and indeed a very nice way to build Wordpress sites. Tnx for sharing your knowledge and off course the discount code is always nice to receive!

Thanks for continuing to partner with value-added WordPress vendors. Will Elementor Pro work with the Genesis Framework and StudioPress themes, my preferred source for building my websites? My concern with drag-and-drop solutions (ex. Divi from Elegant Themes) is the impact on page download speed and strange changes made to the CSS and javascript. Testing them on WebPageTest.org and GTMetrix frequently reveals problems that cause delivery slowdowns, especially with 3G/4G mobile connections.

Yes, Elementor works great with Genesis themes. To be honest, the websites I do personally are all Genesis + Elementor nowadays and the result is really nice. You can check it safely on any of your Genesis project and test it out to make sure it won't have a negative effect on your performance.
Brian Prows
When you say "works great with Genesis Themes," I need clarification. Genesis is the theme framework to which is added a child theme (I use Studiopress). In your website work, are you adding the Genesis Framework, then using an Elementor template? Or do you use a Genesis child theme, then add a template? Any problems when Genesis updates its software? Thanks.
Hristo Pandjarov Siteground Team
You should be using Elementor with a Genesis child theme. Elementor will simply build the blocks within the theme and they will look and work great. So far I haven't stumbled upon complaints regarding any incompatibilities or issues after Genesis updates. I'd recommend that you check both the Elementor and Genesis Facebook groups, they both have great communities and there's always someone to help you out with an issue.

Hi Hristo, I have heard from the Elementor people that the Elementor Pro 2.0 Theme Builder—the one that can edit the Wordpress template pages (post page, archive page,, header, footer, etc.)—does not work well with Genesis. Have you come across anything like this? I realize this post of yours is about a year old and may not cover the 2.0 features of Elementor Pro. I am on the brink of buying both, so I want to make sure I'm not making a mistake. Thank you! (I hope you work weekends :-))
Hristo Pandjarov Siteground Team
The coupon code is valid for all versions, I am not sure if you can even download older ones :)
Ozzymuppet
YES! Thanks Siteground. Elementor is easily the best pagebuilder out there. I've been using the free version until now, but with 20% off its irresistable. Thanks!

Great contribution to the business world.

Will it work only for some posts? I mean I don't wanna change the whole layout of my website, instead I want a change in few posts only...Is it Possible with it for my website??
Hristo Pandjarov Siteground Team
Yes, you can use it for new content only and keep existing one intact.

This is good news especially this part: "The best part of it, however, is that the output is a good, clean HTML that works fast and smooth for you and your visitors." And so I am hoping that this will not create a negative impact on SEO as some drag-and-drop builders do. Thank you.
Vince
Great page builder

Hello. Trying to understand all the possibility of using Elementor. I will be able to use it only to create area in my pages/posts and all plugins should come adding other plugins and/or the theme plugins shortcodes, or Elementor itself has some options included? (recent posts, posts lists with different layouts, slides, tabs and so on?). Thank you for clarifying.
Hristo Pandjarov Siteground Team
You can use both the content generated from Elementor and your Theme and Plugins to build the content you want. Please, check Elementor's site for additional information on what element it includes in the free and paid versions.

Bummer just payed the full package :( Did not know that siteground had any discount coupons. But the plugin is awesome! I can advise it to all wordpress users to just take a look at the free one and see if it fits your needs.

For those of us who moved over to SiteGround after already having purchased the Elementor Pro license while with other host, can we use this discount when that license has to be renewed, or is it just for first-time purchases of the license?
Hristo Pandjarov Siteground Team
The coupon code is valid only for new purchases.
Steve
Hi, Is this a one time discount, or does it roll on year after year when the renewal is due? Thanks Steve
Hristo Pandjarov Siteground Team
The coupon code is valid only for new purchases.
Dan
Is the coupon still valid?
Hristo Pandjarov Siteground Team

Hristo Pandjarov Siteground Team
There's a coupon code on the banner, you have to type it in when ordering Elementor Pro :)
Steven

Adrian Lightfoot
Elementor has clean CSS and doesn't bloat your site so will not affect speed unlike other page builders, easily transferable from other sites ie to SiteGround from others without effecting any code. Not including any discounts Elementor Pro is $49 a year including 1 Year of Updates & Support There is renewal 25% discount for active customers
Hristo Pandjarov Siteground Team
There's a special discount for SG customers too!

Hristo Pandjarov Siteground Team
Yes, it's just called Perks page now :)
J
Where is this page? There is nothing related to Elementor on https://my.siteground.com/marketplace/perks - is it somewhere else?
Hristo Pandjarov Siteground Team
Our coupon code discount was valid until 2019, right now we don't have a special discount for Elementor Pro.

Hi, I receive error whenever I try to edit page with elementor. Please, how do I fix this issue, I am a new user and I've tried all the fixes which are not working. I have come to understand that the issues my be from the server host. Could you please assist me in resolving this issue? A quick reply would be highly appreciated
Hristo Pandjarov Siteground Team
We're working on this, please use Elementor 2.6.0 until their devs fix the bug. It's caused by the Force HTTPS -> Rewrite External Links tool in Site Tools. Note, that if you disable this service, Elementor will work. That should be OK if your site is properly configured to work via HTTPS.
Saleem
Hristo, do you know if we can update or Elementor to it's latest version yet and not have any issues with my SiteGround server host?
Hristo Pandjarov Siteground Team
Elementor works great on SiteGround. You can safely update it.
Paul Mytton
I've been having issues with using Elementor in your staging environment. I was told by the support guys that the issue is an incomparability with the way siteground implements staging. This was a response to a support ticket... As you may know, the way we are creating staging copies is without making any changes to the website's URL structure. This means that we do not reconfigure your website to work with the staging subdomain, but rather edit the request headers and address in real-time. This is how mydomain.co.uk is replaced with staging.mydomain.co.uk, without making any actual changes to the website. I believe that request for previewing the changes is not being affected by the Apache module. I am afraid that no changes can be made to the configuration of the staging environment, so the best way to continue troubleshooting this problem would be to get in touch with the developers of Elementor and ask them if there is a way around this. This seems to render it useless unless you want to develop on your live site! I find it frustrating that this doesn't seem to be documented anywhere, and even more annoying that I paid for,and invested a lot of time on Elementor after reading Siteground's promotion of it.
Hristo Pandjarov Siteground Team
This issue is solved in the new Site Tools system where we've reworked our staging tool to use database replaces instead of dynamic URL substitutions. Once your server gets migrated to it, your Elementor staging copies will work just fine.
Joanne
I am a newbie and having issues with working in the staging area of SiteBuilder and trying to load an Elementor template, I keep receiving an error message saying "Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page". Anyone else have an issue like this? Thank you for any help! I have tried it over and over..
Marina Yordanova Siteground Team
Hello Joanne, our techs will need additional information from you in order to recreate the issue. Please post a ticket in your SiteGround Helpdesk and they will investigate further.
Simon Jordan
It’s a shame Elementor and SiteGround cannot work together on finding a way around the Pro/staging conflict. Simply put, Pro insists on an accurate url in Wordpress settings, but SiteGround staging can’t handle that.
Hristo Pandjarov Siteground Team
As you've seen on Facebook actually we can. It is purely an Elementor licensing issue and they will do their best to handle it.
Dave Goodman
How do you manage staging to production workflow with Elementor? I see you advertise a tool to push to production - is there a hook or WP-CLI commnad automation to get the Produciton site to rebuild the CSS files?
Hristo Pandjarov Siteground Team
Additional WP-CLI commands are provided by the plugin developers. Please, contact the Elementor team for more information on that matter.
Ashish
siteground creates staging url as staging2.domain.com But Elementor pro's license only covers staging.domain.com So you really can't using Elementor Pro with siteground staging
Hristo Pandjarov Siteground Team
Please, take this to the Elementor team. They have exceptions for staging copies and it is up to them to add those too. We can't make staging copies on the same URL or subfolder because that would cause tons of problems.
Jo
After speaking to the Elementor support team they have said there is no such thing as Exceptions for staging copies, your staging way does not work with elementor you just have to pay them more money
Gergana Zhecheva Siteground Team
Hello Jo, we are unable to comment on information provided by 3-parties, yet, from what we can see the naming of our staging copies, which is staging(0-9).website.com is recognized on elementor.com: https://elementor.com/blog/elementor-expands-license-to-include-staging-sites/
L.
Do you perhaps have a nice guide on how to tweak the Elementor for siteground? Especially for mobile. Cache, fpc etc.
Ivan Naidenov Siteground Team
Hello there and thank you for the question! Once you setup Elementor on your WordPress in SiteGround, the controls aren't much different than any installation on a different host. Still, if you're interested in speed - take a look at our tutorial here for example: https://eu.siteground.com/tutorials/wordpress/optimize-performance/ . For more information, our team is always available from the Help Center with a few clicks: https://stgrnd.co/contactus/ . Hope this helps!
