SiteGround targets the Asia-Pacific market with new servers in Singapore

Jun 21, 2012 1 min read Hristo Pandjarov

After opening our first non-US server location in Amsterdam earlier this year, SiteGround web hosting company now announces the launch of new servers in Singapore too. The new location aims to provide high quality service for the shared hosting users both from Asia and from Australia.

SiteGround defines the Asia-Pacific region as very important for our business. According to our information, India and Australia are even now among the 5 top countries, where most of the SiteGround customers reside. With the new servers the company aims at providing better website loading speed to the users from the region. We believe that having local servers will help us grow our Asia-Pacific customer base.

Singapore location was chosen because of its well-known stable connectivity and its geographical convenience being in the middle of the Asian-Pacific region. In Singapore, SiteGround is able to rely on the same old partner it works with in the Netherlands – the SoftLayer Inc. “Our aim is to provide consistent quality and price to our users from all over the world. We believe we have come close to this by now offering affordable and fast service to people living on four different continents: North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.” says Reneta Tsankova – the SiteGrund Soul Giver.

Hi Hristo, would a server in Singapore be just as good as a server in Australia for performance? Are there any plans to run servers from within Australia?

I hope we have a data center in Australia one day but I can't really tell when that will happen. However, we have a lot of happy australian customers that use the Singapore data center and the connectivity is great!
