Brian Krogsgard: WordCamp Birmingham Free Tickets, y'all!

WordCamp Birmingham

Hey there! My name is Brian Krogsgard, and I’m one of the co-organizers of WordCamp Birmingham, a regional WordPress conference in Alabama that we affectionally refer to as WP Y’all.

I was introduced to some of the SiteGround team at WordCamp San Francisco, where we had an opportunity to talk about the awesome things they are doing in the managed hosting ecosystem. Trust me, it’s some cool stuff. And you know that of course, since you’ve entrusted them with your business!

Well, they were asking me about some of the things I’m involved in, and we started talking about WP Y’all (check out the hashtag #WPYall on Twitter). And we got excited about how we may be able to work together. After all, who doesn’t get pumped up about an awesome WordPress conference full of southern flair and hospitality?

So we’ve partnered up with SiteGround, who is graciously supporting our event as a Diamond level sponsor. With this level of support, they are entitled to some pretty awesome perks, and they’ve decided to give them away to you — SiteGround customers!

Up for grabs are six tickets to WP Y’all, four of which are special VIP passes! And SiteGround would like some of you to be their ambassadors for our event, since their staff (travel weary after WordCamp San Francisco!) won’t be able to join us in person.

We’d love to have you in sunny Birmingham for this conference. Our WordCamp is a two day, three track event covering topics for WordPress users, designers and developers, from beginner to advanced. We’ll even have some business sessions and a couple of expert panels.

Some really fabulous people in the community will be there with us. For example, WordPress community leaders Jen Mylo, Otto Wood and Sara Cannon are kicking things off with an awesome panel discussion. Sunday, Andrew Norcross, Chris Lema, Karim Maruchhi and Syed Balkhi will guide us in our business panel. Not to mention all of the great individual talks led by these folks and many more.

Want to come? Simply comment on this post to express your interest, and tweet with the hashtags #WPYall and #siteground for bonus points, and SiteGround will select from those interested up to six people that can come hang out with us in Birmingham.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Sincerely,

Brian

Me and my team would love to go to AL for the day and learn about the new things happening in Wordpress. It is not that long of a drive and since we are starting to heavily rely on Wordpress for our clients, it could help. https://twitter.com/Zero3Computers/status/368029387691552769 https://twitter.com/Zero3Computers/status/368029516314071041

I have been wanting to attend a WordCamp and the last one was just too far away. Birmingham is a great location for me. I do WordPress for myself and clients and I always want more about WordPress. One of my colleagues who work here with me spoke at a recent WordCamp and we are both interested in networking and making connections at WordCamp. I do he site develop0ment and he consults with WordPress designers to help them make more money. This would be a great opportunity for us.
