How to Add a Product to a Category?

To organize your inventory better, you can add products to categories you’ve created for your Ecommerce. You can assign categories while editing existing products or adding new products.

  1. To create a new product, navigate to Site Admin > Store Manager > Products, and press the New Product button.
  2. To edit an existing product, click on its name or select its corresponding Actions (kebab) menu > Edit.

  3. Inside the product editor, select the Categorization tab. The page will list all categories you’ve created for your store in the Categories menu.
  4. Check the box of the category for the product. Hit the Save button to confirm your choice.

  5. If you haven’t got any categories yet or you must create a new category for the product, click on the Add New Category button.

  6. In the new pop-up window, type the new category name. Optionally, you can choose a parent category from the menu Parent Category. Once ready, confirm with the Save button.

NOTE! If you don’t assign a category to a product, it will still be listed in your online store, but it won’t be linked to any existing category.

How to Add Multiple Products to a Category

Alternatively, you can add multiple products to a category.

  1. On the Store Manager > Products page, check the boxes of the products you want to add to a specific category.
  2. Click on the Bulk Actions button and select Add to Category.

  3. Select the category from the dropdown menu listing all existing categories on your store and confirm with Save.
