As of January 2026, Google announced that they will stop fetching emails from third-party accounts into Gmail accounts using POP. If you have been using that setup to receive and send emails from your domain, please consider the following options:

Use the mobile Gmail app

After the change, the Gmail web interface can no longer be connected to third-party email accounts. However, you can continue to read and send emails from your SiteGround-hosted email account in the Gmail app for Android, iPhone, and iPad, which uses a standard IMAP connection. Learn how to add an email account to the Gmail app.

Forward your email to Gmail

You can set up automatic forwarding from SiteGround servers to a Gmail address, allowing new emails to be automatically directed to your main Gmail inbox. Please note that if you use this option, you will receive emails sent to your SiteGround-hosted email in your Gmail inbox, but you will NOT be able to reply or send new messages using your SiteGround-hosted email address through Gmail. Use the SiteGround default and free Webmail through Site Tools

If your email accounts are created at domains pointed at SiteGround servers, you could access the default, free webmail client available at SiteGround. Go to Site Tools > Email > Accounts or Email Tools > Accounts, and find the account you wish to access. Click on the Actions (three dots) > Log in to Webmail next to it to access Webmail. For detailed instructions, read this guide to learn how to access Webmail.

Sign up for Google Workspace to continue using Gmail

If you wish to use Gmail for email accounts at your domain and take full advantage of all Gmail features, consider signing up for Google Workspace. This will allow you to take advantage of more features and higher limits, such as increased storage, increased send limits, and more Google tools that are part of the Workspace suite.
