Collaborator Access

General Collaboration Access Info

The Collaborator users have their own Client Area and do not log in to yours. They may use their Client Area to access the management interface of the site or service you have provided access to. They may also communicate with SiteGround support about your site/service. You will be able to see their support communication about your site/service in your Client area.

Collaborators don’t have access to your general account information, like login and profile information, billing information, services that are NOT part of the collaboration, your communication with SiteGround support, etc.

Access to Websites Built with Third-Party Applications or Custom Code

Collaborators have access to all sections except email management in the Site Tools of your site.

The Collaborator access level for WordPress-based websites or other third-party apps allows full management of all hosting-related aspects through the Site Tools interface. At the same time, it prevents access to more sensitive information, like the content of communication done through email accounts associated with the site.

Access to Websites Built with SiteGround Website Builder or Ecommerce

Collaborators have access to the Website Builder and Marketing sections in the Site Admin. They do NOT have access to Store Manager, Settings, and Email Marketing integration in the Site Admin. They also do NOT have access to your Email Tools, where email accounts related to your site are managed.

Collaborators for sites built with SiteGround Website Builder or Ecommerce have access intended to allow them to work on the design and marketing setup of your site. However, they are not allowed access to more sensitive data, like email communication or client and order information.

Client Access

The Client is a user who gets white-lаbel access to the Site Tools of the website to which they are added, unless you assign to them a custom role. Our Cloud users can customize their Client’s access through our Roles feature. The Clients will not see the SiteGround logo or branding anywhere in the Site Tools, and they don’t have access to your login and profile data. Clients don’t have access to the SiteGround Help Center, but they can take advantage of the pinned knowledge resources in the Site Tools that don’t have the SiteGround branding.
