How to Rearrange Menus and Submenus in the Header and Footer

IMPORTANT! We currently have two builder versions: one for sites created before March 4, 2026, and another for sites created after this date. To rearrange the items in your menus and submenus, follow these steps:

  1. Click Edit Website in your site’s Site Admin.

  2. Open the Navigation tab in the left menu toolbar.

  3. Then, follow either of the instructions below, depending on whether you want to rearrange the menu items or create submenus.

How to rearrange menu items

To rearrange the items in the main menu:

  1. Navigate to the Header section of the Navigation left menu.
  2. Click on the chosen menu item and drag it.
  3. Drop the item to the desired position.

NOTE! You can drag and drop menu items from Header to Footer and vice versa.

How to create a Header submenu

To create a submenu in the Header:

  1. Click on the item from the Header menu you wish to turn into a submenu.
  2. Drag it below the main menu item that will be the parent item.
  3. Move it slightly to the right until it is nested under the parent item, and drop it.

NOTE: You can add up to 3 levels of menus and submenus.

The submenus will appear in the Header based on the type of menu you’ve chosen.

How to create a Footer submenu

Here is how you can create a submenu in your Footer area:

  1. Navigate to the Footer menu items in Navigation.
  2. Click on the item that you’ll turn into a submenu item.
  3. Drag it below the Footer item that will be its parent item.
  4. Move it slightly to the right until it’s nested under the parent item and drop it.

The submenu item will appear under the main menu item in the Footer, and any additional items you add under the same main menu item will line up vertically.

To rearrange menus and submenus, start by opening the Navigation tab.

Rearranging Menu Items

To move a menu item, simply click on it in the navigation tab and drag it to your desired location.

Creating a Main Navigation Submenu

To make a submenu in the main navigation, click on the menu item you want to turn into a submenu. Drag it beneath the main menu item you want it to follow, then move it slightly to the right until it shifts over, showing it’s now a submenu.

Note: You can add up to 3 levels of menus and submenus.

The submenus will show up in the main navigation based on the type of menu you’ve chosen.

Creating a Footer Submenu

To make a submenu in the footer, click on the menu item you want to turn into a submenu. Drag it under the main menu item you want it to follow, then move it slightly to the right until it shifts over, showing it’s now a submenu.

The submenu item will appear under the main menu item in the footer, and any additional items you add under the same main menu item will line up vertically.
